The anticipation of anything you're looking forward to, is enough to drive you nuts. This holds true to, more than ever, when it was finally time to meet our daughter, Shay.

Shay finally made her appearance on Wednesday, August 20 at 4:04 in the morning. We already had to have a talk with her, that was a little early. Brittany ran into a little complication during the birth, Shay was "sunny side up" or face up.

Since she was sunny side up, she was caught on the pelvic bone and was not coming after hours of tough pushing from Brittany. We had two options. 1) Brittany goes in for a C-Section... we wanted to avoid that at ALL costs. The other option was called a "vacuum birth". I've never heard of it until it became an option, but it's basically a small vacuum that is attached to the baby's head and they try to "suck the baby out".

Both had it's pros and cons and after a half hour of talking about what we should do, we decided to give the vacuum birth a chance. The great news is, the extremely smart and talented Doctor Nathan Lee, at the St. Cloud Hospital, said he barely had to apply any pressure or pull on our daughter. Shay only needed a little help getting around the pelvic bone and then it was all Brittany's extreme effort that brought our daughter into the world.

If you're a parent, you already know the INSTANT unconditional love you feel for your child the second they are born. It's a surreal moment that I will always cherish.

Thanks to Dr. Nathan Lee, Dr. Ann Lee, our hilarious Nurse, Rachel and their entire team of professionals, Shay Elizabeth is home with us and in her FINALLY finished baby room.

Pics of both Shay and her room, below.
