The X Factor - Paula Abdul, Nicole Sherzinger, L.A. Reid and Simon Cowell judge this new singing competition. (7 to 9pm on Fox)

The Middle - Back for a third season, Ray Romano guest stars on the season premiere. Also starring Patricia Heaton. (7 to 8pm on ABC)

Modern Family - Fresh off cleaning up at the Emmys, this is the season three premiere. (8 to 9pm on ABC)

Revenge - This is the series premiere tonight. Emily Van Camp of Brothers & Sisters stars as in this so-called modern adaptation of the Count of Monte Cristo set in the Hamptons. (9 to 10pm on ABC)

Criminal Minds - The BAU is back and so is SSA Emily Prentiss! Season seven premiere. (8 to 9pm on CBS)

CSI - The gang is back for season 12 with a new boss, D.B. Russell played by Ted Danson. (9 to 10pm on CBS)

Harry's Law - Kathy Bates is back for another season on this legal dramedy. Mark Valley joins the cast as attorney Oliver Richard. (8 to 9pm on NBC)

Law & Order: SVU - This is a "ripped from the headlines" case tonight as Anika Noni Rose plays a maid who is accusing a high-powered diplomat of rape in the 13th season premiere. (9 to 10pm on NBC)

Old people shrink. Your tiny little grandma is proof, but did you know that it can happen as early as age 30? It's true! A new study by Harvard found that people start losing height at the age of 30, but it's not really noticeable until age 40. Men lost an average of 1.2 inches in height from 30-70 and women lost an average of 3.1 inches from 30-80. The reason? The discs in our spine lose fluid and flatten out. Our feet also flatten out and smoking, drinking, weight fluctuations and caffeine can all speed up height loss.
