My 26th birthday is coming up on Tuesday, Aug. 30 and it's safe to say that I'm dreading it. Not because I think life will be any different than it was at 25, but because it's just another year of youth gone. Which, is always a little depressing no matter how old you get.

But, a new study by Time magazine was recently published and said you're the most depressed and unhappy in your 20's and 30's. Apparently, the older you get, the happier you get. The study explained that it's because you just stop caring about what other people think about you.

I can attest to there being a ton of pressure in your early adulthood to please everyone and live up to their expectations for your life. I do think the older I get, the more I understand how important it is to stay true to who you are and what you want. I can already start to feel myself caring a little less about making everyone else happy and really only caring about being happy myself--BUT, I'm a work in progress.

So, essentially, look forward to your birthday because life gets a whole lot better the more candles you have on your birthday cake...which now explains why my grandma seems so crazy! lol
