The women's publication shared seven things you may not have known about the Minnesota artist.

It's definitely been the year of Lizzo. In August, Justin Timberlake shared a video to Twitter that showed him and Lizzo working together in studio. In July, Lizzo brought the "Juice" to Glastonbury Festival in the UK. The same month, she performed an NPR tiny desk concert and was nominated for two 2019 MTV Video Music Awards. In April, Lizzo's album Cuz I Love You debuted at No. 1 on iTunes Albums chart.

While the world may know her name, Cosmopolitan recently dug a little deeper to share seven things we may not know the Minnesota hip hop star. Like, for instance, that Lizzo snagged her producer over Twitter and a case of hard lemonade. Lizzo's real name is Melissa, though only close friends and family call her that. She's played the flute for over 20 years and performs during her concerts.
