The "Good as Hell" singer is set to make her return to Minnesota September 11 at Treasure Island Casino.

It's been nearly two years since Lizzo performed two sold-out shows at The Armory in Minneapolis. Now, she's returning to the state where it all started.

"Pop’s queen of self-empowerment @lizzo is performing live at the Treasure Island Amphitheater on Sept. 11," Treasure Island Casino announced on Twitter. "With hits like “Truth Hurts” & “Juice,” she’ll deliver a captivating performance showcasing her undeniable talent."

Born Melissa Viviane Jefferson in Detroit, MI Lizzo grew up in in Houston, TX before moving to Minneapolis in 2011. It was there that she acquired the nickname Lizzo (a variation of "Lissa") and began performing with different local groups. One three-piece all-female rap/R&B group The Chalice found success locally. Lizzo found commercial success in 2016 with the release of her solo project Coconut Oil which featured the hit "Good As Hell."

Lizzo's released three albums, her most recent being Cuz I Love You in 2019 featuring "Juice" and "Tempo" featuring Missy Elliot. The deluxe version of the album also featured "Truth Hurts," which became a viral hit on TikTok and reached #1 on Billboard Hot 100.

The Grammy-winning artist will make her return to Minnesota Saturday, September 11 at Treasure Island Casino in Welch, MN. Special guests 2020 Grammy Award-nominee and Canadian singer/songwriter Jessie Reyez and DJ Sophia Eris of Minneapolis will perform as opening acts. Tickets range from $47 for General Admission to $189 for reserved seating and will be available July 7 at TIcasino.com.
