Relax, Minnesota Named the 3rd Least-Stressed State!
If a long winter is the worst thing we have going for us, then it looks like we've got it pretty good!
Zippia.com looked at six different criteria to find the most- and least-stressed states in the country. Studying data from the U.S. Census’ American Community Survey for 2018, they looked at (1) long commute times, (2) unemployment, (3) hours worked, (4) population density, (5) home price to income ratio and (6) percent uninsured population.
According to Zippia's findings, the top 10 most stressed states are:
Interestingly, all of those states but Illinois are on a coast; maybe a day at the beach isn't all it's cracked up to be! Zippia's findings also suggest that Midwest really is best! Minnesota ranked 3rd least stressed state in the U.S. (#48), with our neighbors on all sides -- Iowa (#50), North Dakota (#49), Wisconsin (#44) and South Dakota (#43) -- also making the list of least stressed.
