RICHMOND -- The Minnesota Department of Transportation is holding an open house on future plans to expand Highway 23 to four lanes between Paynesville and Richmond.

Area residents, motorists and business owners are invited to view changes in the proposed layout Thursday in Richmond. The open house will be at the St. Peter and Paul gymnasium from 4:00-6:00 p.m.

There will be no formal presentation, but you'll be able to see the updated design layout, ask questions of staff and give your input. The final layout will be scheduled for this spring or summer.

The project is being planned through the Corridors of Commerce program established by the Legislature in 2013. There's money for planning and design, but no funding currently set aside for construction.
