It’s Official: Minnesota 2nd Best State to Raise a Family in 2018
Talk about how cold it is here all you want, but that doesn't change the fact that Minnesota is an awesome place to live. We're also the best place to raise a family in the Midwest!
Wallethub just released their annual list of the best U.S. states to raise a family, and Minnesota came in 2nd out of every state in the country!
They compared the 50 states across 42 key indicators of family-friendliness, which includes everything from median family salary to housing affordability to unemployment rate. Minnesota couldn't quite hit the number 1 spot this year, but given we're higher than any other state in the Midwest, we'll take that all day. Here's the we ranked among the other states in the top 10...
- Massachusetts
- Minnesota
- New Hampshire
- North Dakota
- Vermont
- Wisconsin
- New York
- Iowa
- Nebraska
- California
Big kudos to North Dakota for their spot at number 4 in this list as well. It's hard to compete with Massachusetts because they grow money on trees there, so of course they top the list with the financial side of raising a family. Minnesota does it the way it should be -- strong family roots, great people, and the overall best rounded-out environment for every age.
