Farmers In Minnesota Have Help If They Need It
Things have been hard for a lot of folks the last few years. Trying to keep our heads above water went to a new level, and we’re not exactly out of it yet.

But as hard as it has been for some, there are folks whose livelihoods are tethered to provide for ours; I’m talking about farmers.
They’ve been experiencing and dealing with increasing operating costs which affect their bottom line and how effectively they run their farms. These increases cause farmers to face losing their property due to financial problems. There are also hardships due to circumstances out of their control that prevent them from being able to provide the product or products that they produce.
The State of Minnesota wants farmers to know that there is help available for them if they are experiencing difficult times. Minnesota Farm Advocates offers one on one support to help navigate the choppy waters that blow up.There is no fee for the service that has been offered to farmers around the state in this program that has been around since 1984. The services that are offered include lender negotiation, mediation, crisis counseling, farm programs, disaster programs, and agricultural lending practices.
The issues that farmers face can be rather complicated when it comes to avoiding bankruptcy, dealing with property tax laws and loan programs that are available through farm services mortgage lenders, especially if there’s a loan in default status.
The state has assembled a network of accountants, attorneys, human services experts and other well-trained professionals who have the experience that farmers need to help them when facing uncertain times.
