Are you like most Minnesotans who have Maple trees in their yards?  The helicopters that are hanging in the trees right now, and blow around get super annoying right now.  It's almost to the point that it would be great if a huge wind storm would come up and blow all of them off so at least it would be over.

The helicopter infestation happens every year around this time and there have been so many posts on social media with people complaining about them. Like it seems more than most years.  Maybe it is, or maybe it just seems that way.  But it can almost look like it's snowing they are so heavy.  The problem is that the trees are so pretty when not shedding those annoying helicopters.

Just recently the news that you can gather up these helicopters (good job for kids) and bring them to the DNR.

Collecting Deciduous Seeds

Let's be honest, picking up all of these seeds (helicopters) might be a pain, but one way or another they probably need to be gathered anyway, they might as well do some good too.  Bottom line, I have no idea how to stop the onslaught of those pesky helicopters, but maybe some good can come out of it.
