Starring: Topher Grace, Anna Faris, Dan Fogler, Teresa Palmer

Summary: Matt Franklin (Grace) is a recent MIT graduate who doesn’t know what to do with his life. Much to his father’s disappointment Matt is working at a local video store with no real ambition to do anything else. His best friend Barry (Fogler) has just been fired and his twin sister Wendy (Faris) is engaged to a loser. When his high school crush Tori (Palmer) suddenly re-enters his life Matt decides to go for it for just one crazy night to see what happens.

This movie is a mix of 80s buddy movies like Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and the American Pie movies, but it doesn’t really have the charm of any of them. Topher Grace has always had a sweet boyish charm that I happen to find endearing. His love interest played by Teresa Palmer looks just like Kristen Stewart but without the brooding sulkiness. But the best part of this movie is the awesome soundtrack. If you’re a fan of the 80s, which I am, the soundtrack provides a sweet nostalgic trip down memory lane.  Grade:  C

Trivia: Due to the heavy drug use depicted in this film it took 4 years of negotiating with studios to get it released.

Rated: R – For language, sexual content, and drug use.
