Tonight the newest Tim Burton film Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children opens in theaters across America.

I have been waiting for this movie since the first book in the trilogy came out in 2011. I have read all the novels and think Ransom Riggs is an incredible author.

Tim Burton is a movie genius everything he touches turns to gold.

As a huge fan of the books, I had a few issues with this movie. Tim Burton changed a lot of characters and the story line was drastically different as well. It is a good thing I went and saw the movie alone because if anyone would have come with I would've complained their ear off. I get it, certain things needed to be changed to make the book "movie-friendly" but I don't know if everything that got changed was necessary. I also didn't like how they didn't leave it open for a squeal. There are three novels. There could be at least three movies.

All that being said I did think the movie was great. 10/10 would recommend going to see it.  But don't read the books first. Just go see the movie and enjoy it for what it is. Then read the books afterwards and appreciate the books for the masterpieces they are. I suggest seeing it on a DLX Superscreen at the Marcus Parkwood Cinema! The quality is amazing!
