Starring: Sylvester Stallone and just about every other action star available

Summary: When their latest mission goes wrong, resulting in the loss of a team member, Barney Ross (Stallone) and the rest of the gang head out to seek vengeance. The target of their revenge is aptly named Vilain, and is played with cheesy goodness by Jean-Claude Van Damme. As the bad guy in the film Vilain wants to steal a lot of weapons-grade plutonium and sell it to the highest bidder. Obviously it’s up to Ross and his crew to stop him and save the world.

What I love most about this movie is the nostalgic feeling I get when I see all my favorite action heroes up on the screen. It’s obvious that all these guys really like and respect each other. It seems like they’re all part of a special club that thought it would be fun to make a good old-fashioned action movie just for the heck of it. My favorite addition to the crew was that of Chuck Norris, who I believe to be the epitome of macho coolness. Plus the fact that Chuck Norris makes a Chuck Norris joke in the film is reason enough to go and see it. And while I don’t see this film getting nominated for an Oscar any time soon, the simple joy of watching these guys have fun is rewarding enough for me.

Trivia: When Chuck Norris was approached to be in this film he said he would do it only if the swearing was kept to a minimum, which it is.

Rated: R – For strong bloody violence throughout.

Grade: B
