Why We’re Phasing Out “LOL”…P.S., Grandma, It Doesn’t Stand For “Lots Of Love” [POLL]
My grandma joined Facebook a few months ago and she's still getting used to the way people talk on the internet. She thinks "LOL" stands for "lots of love." "Sorry you're having a bad day, Honey. LOL -Grandma."
See what I mean...It's a nice thought but totally looks awkward to everyone else. Facebook recently did a study to find out how people are expressing their laughter on Facebook.
It turns out, people aren't using "LOL" anymore...Maybe because it's kind of awkward and confusing for generations that are just getting used to the internet. Most people are now using "ha," "haha" or some type of emoji.
The study says that people under 25 think "LOL" is jibberish. So, what do you think? Do you still use "LOL?"
