Timberwolves Announce Two Home Preseason Games
Minnesota sports fans are still reeling from the massive fire sale that the Twins held at the end of the trade deadline, and they’re turning their attentions to the preseason practices of the Minnesota Vikings.
And thankfully the Vikings preseason game Saturday against the Houston Texans will help detour the frustrations with the state's baseball team even more. I know that it’s only preseason, but it’s still football, which is a very easy distraction, especially when we’re all curious to see what quarterback JJ McCarthy will look like knowing he’s the starter going into the season, which hopefully be his first full season in the league.

But with all the excitement of what’s happening with the Vikings, basketball is looming in the background as the Minnesota Timberwolves are leading up to the start of their season.

Yesterday, the Timberwolves and the NBA released the preseason schedule for the team so fans can start getting ready for the upcoming season, which will be here before we know it.
The Timberwolves will begin the preseason on the road on Saturday October 4th as they travel to face a familiar preseason foe in the Denver Nuggets, who they have played in the preseason seven previous times. But this game won’t be in the Mile High City, this will be a neutral site game in San Diego.
Of the six games before the regular season starts, the Timberwolves will play two at Target Center. The first will be on October 7th when the Eastern Conference Champs, the Indiana Pacers, visit the Target Center.
The only other home preseason game is not against an NBA team, but one from China as the Wolves host the Guangzhou Loong Lions on Monday October 13th. The remaining schedule for Minnesota before the season’s official tipoff is:
Thursday October 9th at the New York Knicks
Thursday October 16th in Chicago against the Bulls
Friday October 17th at the Philadelphia 76ers.
Tickets for the two preseason games at Target Center will go on sale at a later date.
