Lakers Reporter With Minnesota Ties Gets Offer From Lakeside Bar
The Los Angeles Lakers are in Minneapolis for Games 3 and 4 of the first round of the NBA playoffs. While there is plenty of shared history between the Lakers and Minnesota, hence the team's name, they also have a team reporter who shares some Minnesota history. One lakeside bar has offered this reporter a free beer if they stop by this weekend. How's that for Minnesota Nice?
The Timberwolves and Lakers are even at a game a piece in the first round of the NBA Playoffs, with Games 3 and 4 being played in Minneapolis, there will be plenty of storylines and mentions of the shared history of LA and the City of Minneapolis, but one story that might NOT be told is that of a Lakers reporter with Minnesota ties.
Lord Fletcher's on Lake Minnetonka has made an offer to Lakers reporter, Mike Trudell, that his first beer is on the house if he stops by the lakeside bar.
The bar, which is known for hosting summer concerts, made the honest offer to a guy who grew up in nearby Orono.
Trudell, an Orono High School graduate, played soccer for Northwestern while he was working on his journalism degree, and worked briefly for the Timberwolves before getting a job with the Lakers.

On top of his beat reporter duties for Lakers.com, he is also the sideline reporter for Spectrum SportsNet, the Lakers' TV partner.
It's not clear if Trudell will take the bar up on the offer, but it was nice of them to remember a hometown kid coming back home, even if it's for work.
