The Community Center’s Library Is Sartell’s Best-Kept Secret
The Sartell Community Center is a wonderful place. Our kids LOVE the indoor playground, we practically live at the Country Lights Festival during the winter months and our family regularly rents out their spacious meeting rooms for birthday parties and events.
For me, the real magic lies on the building's west side: the community library. The library takes donations from the community and lends them out with the honor system. You take a book and bring it back, no check-out procedure is needed.
The Sartell Community Center's library is packed FULL of books ranging from adult novels to board books for toddlers. My two-year-old loves to look at the picture books and put together some of the puzzles, while my seven-year-old loves combing through the books and graphic novels to find something new.
In fact, just about a year ago my then six-year-old found a Dog Man graphic novel at the Sartell Library. We got through the whole book over the course of two bedtimes and we both really enjoyed it. It was great for bonding and laughing before bedtime.
We loved it so much that we ended up reading all 13 of the books in the series, and some of the spin-offs since then. The best part? When we got the first book I was reading out loud to my son, but about halfway through the series HE was reading them to ME! That's something I will never forget and we have the Sartell Library to thank.
The Great River Regional Library is also an amazing place that my family loves but it can be a bit of a haul from Sartell in the winter. That's why we love our community library here in town!
