The top seeded Albany Huskies defeated 8th seeded Pelican Rapids 80-57 Tuesday night in the Class 2-A State Tournament Quarterfinals at Williams Arena. Albany went out to a 47-26 halftime lead and never looked back while improving to 30-0.
The Albany boys basketball team is back at the Class 2-A State Tournament for a 3rd straight season with their sights set on winning their 2nd state title in 3 years. Albany is 29-0 and is the #1 seed.

St. Cloud Tech will meet Alexandria in the Section 8-3-A boys basketball final for a 3rd straight year Thursday night in Willmar. The Tigers edged Alexandria 71-69 in 2022 and the Cardinals got their revenge on Tech in 2023 winning 56-44.
Foley defeated Cathedral 59-32 in the first round of the Section 6-2-A boys basketball playoffs Thursday night. The Falcons improves to 19-8 while Cathedral ends their season with an 11-16 record.
Both the Sartell-St. Stephen and Sauk Rapids-Rice boys basketball teams saw their seasons come to an end Wednesday night in the Section 8-4-A quarterfinals. The Sabres lost at top seeded Rogers 60-44 while Sauk Rapids-Rice fell at home to 5th seeded Moorhead 73-72 Wednesday night.
The Tech boys basketball team defeated Little Falls 82-56 in the Section 8-3-A Quarterfinals Tuesday night. The Tigers improve to 18-9 and will play at 2nd seeded Detroit Lakes at 7 p.m. Friday night. Tech is the #3 seed in the section.
The Sartell-St. Stephen boys basketball team won at Elk River Monday night in the Section 8-4-A play-in game 57-54. The Sabres improve to 6-21 and will play at top seeded Rogers Wednesday at 7 p.m.
Albany earned their first boys basketball state championship by defeating Minnehaha Academy 72-65 Saturday afternoon at Target Center in the Class 2-A State Championship. The Huskies led 39-31 at halftime and held off the Red Hawks in the 2nd half.
