My favorite place to eat in St. Cloud is Up in Smoke Bar-B-Q on Second Street in St. Cloud. Their barbecue reminds me of some of my favorite places back in North Carolina.

Tim and Tamara who own Up in Smoke offer a big menu and everything I’ve had from there has been awesome. And I’m not just saying that because I partner with them in promoting their business on the air, I partner with them because that’s the way I feel.

One of the reasons I enjoy eating there so much, is the portion sizes are big, and I can turn one meal into two, or my and I can share.

Up in Smoke BBQ, has become known for great barbecue, ribs, chicken, brisket and these heavenly delights called “shotgun shells”, which is manicotti stuffed with beef, sausage, and cheese, wrapped in bacon. Divine!

The folks at Up in Smoke are about to be known for something else, the latest restaurant in Minnesota to throw down an eating challenge to Randy Santel.

Randy Santel is a “professional eater” who, according to his website, has 1,262 eating challenge wins and is the World Record holder for eating challenges. He has become popular on Facebook and YouTube with his channels there. If you’re not familiar, a restaurant will give Randy a short period of time to eat a certain amount of food, and so far, Randy has knocked off most of the piles of food that have been set down before him.

Randy will be at Up in Smoke on Tuesday at 6pm to see if he can munch his way through a platter challenge from Up in Smoke. The platter will feature ribs, barbecue, chicken and brisket along with beans, mac and cheese, and two cornbread muffins.

This is roughly 7 pounds of food.

You are invited to come by and see the eating challenge for yourself. Again, Up in Smoke BBQ is on 2nd Street South in St. Cloud, the challenge starts Tuesday at 6pm.
