UPDATE: Authorities Release Drivers Name in Deadly Crash Near Clearwater

ST. CLOUD - Authorities have released the name of the man killed in a crash near Clearwater Monday.

The Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office has identified the man as 22-year-old Marcus Sabel of St. Cloud.

The Stearns County Sheriff's Office says the crash happened just after 1:00 p.m. on County Road 75, near 221st Street east, in Lynden Township, near Clearwater.

The Sheriff's Office was notified that a vehicle had crashed into a tree. Additional reports were Sabel was unresponsive, and the vehicle was engulfed in flames. Clearwater Fire was called and put out the fire.

Deputies found Sabel in the driver's seat. The incident remains under investigation.
