Playoff’s Clinched, Here’s How The Vikings Can Now Win The Division
The Minnesota Vikings haven't had to play their week 15 game against Chicago yet, but the team has clinched a spot in the 2024 playoffs. While that's great news for fans of the purple and gold, there is still a way for the Vikings to get the number one overall seed and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. Here's the path to the number one overall seed for the Minnesota Vikings in the playoffs.
Can the Minnesota Vikings get the #1 seed?
The Minnesota Vikings can still claim the number 1 overall seed in the NFC Playoffs. It all starts by winning against the Chicago Bears at U.S. Bank Stadium tonight. The Vikings would have to win out, including ending the regular season with a win in Detroit to finish at 15-2, to claim the number 1 overall seed in the NFC.
Now the Philadelphia Eagles can also claim the number one overall seed in the playoffs by winning out as well, they currently are the number two seed based on conference record.
What does the #1 seed mean in the NFL Playoffs?
The top two seeds get a first-round bye and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.
Where are the Minnesota Vikings in the NFL Playoffs right now?
Currently, the Vikings are seeded #5, which would see them take on the #6 seed which right now looks like it's the Green Bay Packers. The winner of that playoff matchup would then get the number 2 seed in a road game, which right now is Philly. (I don't think we want to relive that nightmare, right Vikings fans?)
All we can do right now is root on the purple and gold at home tonight against the Bears, and hope for a W.
