FREE COFFEE, messy desks and no more cursive ?

We talked about how a messy desk can prevent you from getting a promotion. Read about that here. This spiraled into another conversation about my messy desk. It's NOT MY FAULT! There's a troll who lives under there that keeps messing it up!

Some public schools are thinking about getting rid of cursive handwriting. I learned it, Pete learned it and both of our moms write in cursive exclusively. I think it's OK to dump it because no one writes in it anymore anyway. Pete thinks it will destroy the ability to sign our names on checks and credit card slips and increase the likelihood of identity theft. Bernadette called in and said that if adults know cursive and children don't it can be like our own secret code and we can write about our kids and they won't be the wiser.
