The Long Drive-In Theater in Long Prairie has been delighting Minnesotans with outdoor movies since 1956. The theater is known for hosting fun events throughout the year, including a pair of upcoming weekends chock-full of Halloween fun!

On Friday, October 11th, the theater is hosting a Pajama Party featuring a pair of animated movies that are great for all ages! The gates will open at 6:30 p.m., and the first movie begins at 7:20 p.m. or so.

The concession stands will be open throughout the night where candy will be handed out. Unlike other theme nights, there is no trunk-or-treating planned for Friday (more on that later).

One of the great benefits of drive-in movies during the fall is the earlier movie start times. It can be heard to keep the kiddos up until midnight for both movies! In this case, the second movie is set to begin at 9 p.m..

The first movie on Friday night will be the newly-released (and very well reviewed) "The Wild Robot," which is based on the book series of the same name.

The second movie to be shown Friday night is Despicable Me 4, which made over $958 million this summer.

Saturday's showings again begin with "The Wild Robot," but will feature "Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice" as the 9 p.m.. movie.

A Trunk-or-Treat event IS planned for Saturday. Gates open at 3:30 for pumpkin carving, with pumpkins available for $3/$4. Attendees will need to bring their own tools for carving.

The Trunk-or-Treat event begins at 6:30 p.m., and the first feature (The Wild Robot) begins at 7.

Adult tickets are just $8, while kids age 5-11 cost just $5. Kids 4 and under are admitted free.

Next weekend the theater plans on showing Hocus Pocus alongside The Nightmare Before Christmas.
