SAUK RAPIDS - Dozens of people and dogs gathered to raise money for people and animals with cancer.

The Bark For Life took place Saturday morning at the Sauk Rapids Municipal Park. Bark For Life raised money for the American Cancer Society.

Event Organizer Jessica Ostendorf says the money all goes to a great cause.

"Bark For Life is just a really wonderful event. It raises money for the American Cancer Society, so it is going to help people who have cancer, it's going to help fund Hope Lodging, it helps with wigs for people who need those when they are going through cancer treatment, support services for the families, and it does help for research."

Dozens of people and their pets gathered at the park. The dogs came in all shapes and sizes.

Raylene Johnson is the owner of Wags On Wheels. She says her family has been greatly impacted by cancer and she just loves seeing all these dogs and people out for a great cause.

"I love the thought of getting dogs together for such a good cause. It is also bringing awareness that dogs can get cancer too."

Bark For Life has raised nearly $20,000.00 in Central Minnesota for the American Cancer Society over the past three years.
