All week, I've been trying to help you save money for that special trip, that special gift, that specials something that you really want. After all, we all have busy lives...We have to really make things happen that are going to be out of the ordinary.  We've been able to save close to $900in a year, just by looking at savings by choosing generic over national brands at the grocery store. Now...how about tightening up spending habits?  Lets see if you have what it takes to make your dreams come true.

STOP SHOPPING AT EXPENSIVE STORES

Okay...Who DOESN'T like to have the best of the best? Well, whether you like it or not, sometimes the stores that have the BIG names, often have the BIG prices. Is it worth it? That can depend on your goals.  Is shopping for groceries at one store over the other going to save you money?  You bet it will!  I save over $150 each visit when I shop at my local store, rather than going to the big name stores.  Maybe once I reach my savings goals, I'l shop there then...But if you have a goal in mind...sometimes you have to bite the bullet.

MEMBERSHIPS

Working out is very important.  You may need to revisit the location of your membership. Can you find a cheaper membership at a different location?  Or maybe, for the time being...cancel memberships to magazines, online dating sites, gyms....at the very least find them for a lower price. You may even tell your gym that you have to find a way to save...Maybe they will allow you to be on a promotional package temporarily, just to keep you at that location.  It never hurts to ask.  They may want to help you reach your goals, so that they can keep you as a satisfied customer.

MOVE BACK HOME

Now, I may be a little over the hill to move back in with Mom and Dad. BUT....if you're young, sometimes they're glad to have you back home, even if temporarily. They want you to save money..You can be gracious and help your family out with chores, cleaning, other things that you wouldn't when you were a child.  Maybe even buy groceries and make supper.  Take some burdens off your parents as they allow you to live with them, and take the burden of rent or lease off of you.

CHANGE YOUR SOCIAL HABITS

I used to leave work, grab a coffee at the local coffee shop, or stop by and get me a taco and freezy.  Those little tiny daily treats add up over time.  Instead, get meals at the grocery store that are quick to fix, for just a couple dollars rather than spending $7 or more on one coffee drink or fast food meal.
