Kelly's Kitchen Club- Easy Cheesy Chili

This recipe will serve 4 to 6 people, but simply double the recipe if you're looking for a quick easy meal to heat up that will get you through until Friday. It takes just a few minutes to create, and can satisfy hungry appetites anytime.

  • 1 lb lean ground beef or 1 lb ground chuck
  • 1 (15 ounce) can of light red kidney beans
  • 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (or to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper (or to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon  salt (or to taste)
  • 1/4 cup chopped /diced onions (optional)

Kelly's Favorite Toppings

  • shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • green onions, chopped and diced

Directions

In a large sauce pan, use medium high heat to warm tomato sauce, kidney beans, and add all spices stirring frequently.  While this is heating, you can be preparing your hamburger meat.

Brown and chop hamburger meat in a skillet. Add a sprinkle of garlic salt. (If you choose to add onions, heat the meat with the chopped onions.)
Once hamburger mixture is cooked fully, drain fat, and add browned hamburger to the tomato mixture in large sauce pan.

Cook over medium heat. Continue to cook until fully heated, and stir frequently.  Add more of each spice until you reach your desired flavor. Once you have the flavor to your liking , cover with lid and simmer for 10-15 minutes on low heat.

Note:  Please Please Please Remember....as long as the chili is on a burner...It's still cooking.  Be careful not to burn it. ( I don't think any flavor lingers longer than the flavor of chili burn).

To serve, add chili to a bowl, and top with diced green onions  and  shredded sharp cheddar cheese, for extra added flavor.

This is a great tummy warmer  on a "chilly"  fall day.  (Yes...Pun intended.)   Enjoy and share this easy recipe with others.
