In a lot of ways, technology has made our entertainment options more streamlined and more convenient.

In other ways, it can feel unnecessarily cumbersome and harder than it has to be to find the stuff you want to watch among the 6,000 streaming services. Life in 2024.

'A Charlie Brown Christmas' first aired on CBS in 1965, then moved to ABC in 2001. It was a yearly tradition in my house that the entire family would sit down and watch together. Heck, my grandma called me until I was into my 40's every year to remind me it was coming on that weekend!

However, money took over in 2019 when Apple bought the rights to all the Peanuts characters- and with it, the special. For the first two years of this deal, 2020 and 2021, Apple and PBS struck a deal to show the program for free.

However, money once again spoke louder than doing the right thing, and Apple discontinued its partnership with Apple in 2022.

So, the question now is: How on Earth do I watch 'A Charlie Brown Christmas' in 2024... and can I do it without a subscription to Apple TV+?

OPTION 1:

WATCH FOR FREE DECEMBER 14th and 15th on APPLE TV+

Apple TV+ will throw us a bone and allow anyone to watch the program, for free, on December 14th and 15th. If those days don't work, you could subscribe to APPLE TV+ on a seven-day free trial.

OPTION 2:

ORDER THE DVD AND HAVE IT TO KEEP FOREVER

This is the option I chose a few years ago. You can get a used DVD copy on eBay for about $7 including shipping, a new DVD copy for under $10 at WalMart or a Blu-Ray for about $20.

OPTION 3:

SUBSCRIBE TO APPLE TV+

A one-month subscription to Apple TV+ is currently priced at $9.99 per month after the seven-day trial period.
