John Fuls is the founder of Tanner's Team, he says the walk-run has several ways for you to participate.

"We have a 5K, a 1K for the kids, and also a two-mile walk, so if you're not a runner and want to get involved you can come over and sign up for the two-mile walk."

With the St. Cloud Federal Credit Union being the primary sponsor for the event, their President Jed Meyer says since he's running, the foundation should do well.

"Personally I like to help as well, I've never run a 5K...I haven't really practiced for this 5K, so I think the Foundation will do very well Saturday morning. I've pledged a certain dollar amount, that will remain undisclosed, but it's a certain dollar amount for every minute it takes me to finish, so I think the foundation will do very well based off the fact I'm not a runner."

Tanner's Team was created in 2011 to help families with children who are fighting a life-threatening illness or serious injury in Central Minnesota.

Tanner's Team is named after Tanner Fuls, who was diagnosed at age 11 with Myelodysplastic Syndrome, and passed away in 2010.

Since the Foundation was started in 2011, they've helped more than 150 families with over $122,000 in grants.
