ST. CLOUD -- A unique way for community members to relieve stress has come to the St. Cloud Public Library.

Monday night the library held a "Color Me Stressless" event. It was free and open to everyone.

Associate Tresa Wangsness says coloring comes doctor recommended.

"We know that coloring has been actually prescribed for 100 years as a way to relax and calm yourself down."

Wangness adds, it targets your brain's fear center.

"It helps relax the amygdala, which is the fear center of the brain. It also gives you something to focus on so you're not focused on all of your worries."

This was the first "Color Me Stressless" event and Wangsness says the library is interested in making this a monthly event, if feedback from the first attendees is good.

The event is intended for teens and adults.

If you are interested in "Color Me Stressless", make sure you contact the Library and let them know at 320-650-2500.
