Amazing Teenager May Have the Cure for Cancer

At 17 I was chugging a six pack and praying to get a C on my history test. This amazing young woman has made a major scientific breakthrough and won herself a wad of cash in the process. 

Seventeen year old Angela Zhang of Cupertino, California has just won the $100 thousand dollar grand prize in the Siemens Competition in Math, Science and Technology for her invention of a nanoparticle that kills cancer cells.

Angela says that she designed the particle to target cancer cells and not destroy the healthy cells around them. No other cancer treatment currently does this, and her nanoparticle can release extra cancer fighting drugs when activated by a laser.

Unfortunately, like all cancer treatments, it will likely take years of testing before it's ready for use in the real world. She has been working on the project for two years.
