You are planning a vacation.  And in these times when things are crazy expensive, you may try to find the best deal possible.  That's totally normal.  You want to save money on the "getting there" so you have more money to spend when you reach your destination so you can have a good time on your vacation.

Saving money might direct you to flying with Spirit Airlines.  I have flown that airline once.  Never again.  And now, there's even more of a reason not to fly that airline.

Now, they have implemented a dress code.  WHAT???  Yes, you read that correctly, Spirit Airlines has put in a dress code, and if you do not comply, you will be asked to deplane.  How is that for a vacation destroyer?

Recently, as in a few months ago, two girls were escorted off the airline because they both had crop tops on.  SO?  When I fly I usually wear something as comfortable as possible, and also with zero things that would set off the TSA checks.  That means sweats or leggings, sweatshirt, or whatever is comfy.

It's not just crop tops that aren't allowed, by the way.  They are also banning any sweat shirt or t-shirt that has sayings on them that they deem as offensive.  OR - get this - if you have tattoos that they think are offensive, you will either need to cover those up or not fly with Spirit.  I would take the latter.

Here is the official dress code statement from Spirit via Travel and Leisure:

In its updated "Contract of Carriage," the airline states that passengers will not be allowed to board if they are "barefoot" or are "inadequately clothed," which it defines as in "see-through clothing; not adequately covered; exposed breasts, buttocks, or other private parts," or "whose clothing or article, including body art, is lewd, obscene, or offensive in nature or has an offensive odor unless caused by a qualified disability."

Ok to be honest, I'm ok with them not allowing bare feet.  Why would you board a plane with no shoes on?  That's just gross.  Not only to the other passengers, but also, why would you want to walk on those floors with no shoes/socks on?  You are just asking for a planters wart.

But anyway - what do you think about this new dress code?
