Lumberjacks Break Out Brooms: Look Ahead To 5 Game Road Trip
The Granite City Lumberjacks handled their business this past weekend at the Miller Buick GMC Arena. They needed a shootout Friday night, but they put their foot on the accelerator Saturday night and skated to a 9-goal game. The Lumberjacks now are on the road for the next 5 games, and there are just 11 left in the regular season.
The Lumberjacks got the win, by the skin of their fingernails on Friday night, needing a shoot-out to get the win against the Minnesota Wilderness. The final Friday night was 3-2.
The newcomer to the team, Dom Thomas, recently traded for from Mason City, had the game-winner in the shootout, and he provided a little bit of a lift for the Jacks all weekend as he had a big Saturday night too.

On Saturday night Thomas' 2nd game with the Jacks had a 4-point night with 2 goals and 2 assists. It was all Jacks in the game, as they rolled to a 9-2 win, putting the game out of reach of the struggling Minnesota Wilderness.
Coming up this weekend, the Lumberjacks are on the road down in Iowa taking on the Mason City Bulls Friday and Saturday. The game times are 7:10 Friday night and an afternoon getaway game on Saturday for the Lumberjacks with puck drop scheduled for 2:10.
The following weekend the Lumberjacks are in Blaine (Friday) and Willmar (Saturday) before they wrap up their time on the road they play a one-game series with Willmar on February 15th in Willmar.

After that, the Lumberjacks will wrap up the remaining weekends in February at home, before ending the season in March on the road on March 2nd in Willmar and March 7th in Alexandria.
