28 Families In Need Due To Arson

WHAT’S HAPPENING

Approximately 28 families were recently displaced due to an arson starting a fire at the Paynesville Apartment Complex. Although there has been some assistance by the Red Cross, the Paynesville Community Center and Tri Cap, so much more is needed. Many of those displaced are children, and lost all of their clothing, toys and other belongings, walking out with only the pajamas they were wearing.

We were touched this morning when we found these items this morning. If you would like to bring us your small items like clothing, toiletries, toys and such, I will make sure that the items get in the hands of the right people.

I recently was speaking with one of the victims of the fire, and it was devestating to her. She lost everything she had in that fire, along with all the other people. After speaking with her, she informed me that many of the families still have to place to live. What was even more terrifying, is that no alarms went off, and none of the residents are receiving their deposits back, which could come in handy in such a tragedy as this.

WHAT’S NEEDED

Adult shoes and clothing
Linens
Toiletries
Diapers
Laundry Detergent, Cooking utensils, dish soap, can openers
Paper goods
Furniture
Toys
Housing Assistance- Especially for a family of five that has no pets.
