I was reading an article in Women's Health Magazine that really caught my attention. There is some interesting research that explains why fiber is such a miracle worker in achieving weight loss.

It's not necessarily the fiber that causes the weight loss.  It's what happens in your body AFTER you eat fiber that we find the miracle worker.  Acetate, is created after eating fiber, which changes your brain cells that control hunger.

In the study, mice and rats were given a high fiber diet, while others were given a regular diet.  The high fiber group had more acetate in their guts than the others and came to the conclusion that this is the reason we feel fuller longer when we eat fiber.

So what foods make us feel fuller...longer?  Here's a list to start with:

  • Hummus
  • Oatmeal
  • Avacados
  • Lentils
  • Broccoli
  • Brussel Sprouts
  • Kale
  • Raspberries
  • Pears
  • Apples
  • Chia Seeds
  • Barley
  • Carrots
  • Artichokes
  • Almonds

Surely, there are a few delicious options for you.  Get eating some healthy fiber, and get a jump start on your weight loss.
