I got the “Barbie” airplane when I was probably 8 years old and I JUST finally let it go about a year ago.  Clearly I loved that thing.  Barbie was the flight attendant and there was a rolling serving tray for snacks and drinks.  So, I don't know about you, but there is a soft spot in my heart for this new “Barbie” movie coming out on July 21st starring Ryan Gosling and Margot Robbie. There’s already a schedule for the showings here in St. Cloud.

But, have you seen the Barbie foot challenge going around on socials? Ladies of Minnesota, this is what you need to be careful of, we’re being warned of its dangers. The trailer opens with Barbie stepping out of her heels with feet still arched (and so nothing for support), which has lead to the viral challenge.

It started on Tik Tok and Chrissy Teigen recently joined the craze with her video on Instagram:

According to an article in Consequence Film Podiatrists are voicing concerns about the dangers of this.

Dr. Jodi R. Schoenhaus at Foot, Ankle & Leg Vein Center in Florida warns against the risk of injury while attempting the challenge over a prolonged period of time.

“If someone attempts the pose once or twice, they will likely be ok and produce a great TikTok video,” she said in a statement. “However, if attempting the pose and stride over long periods, there are some risks involved. The ankle is unstable, which can lead to ligament sprains and injuries, commonly seen with high heel use.”
