A local Dollar General store is getting some upgrades. The Saint Augusta Dollar General store looks like it might be encountering hard times, especially if you look at its cooler section, but that is by design as the store announced that it would be getting upgraded coolers shortly, so shoppers will experience less product until the changeover is done.

First off, I love my town's Dollar General store. When you live at least 8 miles from the nearest grocery store, having a place you can stop to get eggs, milk, or a sweet treat on the way home, after forgetting to stop in St. Cloud is nice.

Upgrades coming to Saint Augusta's Dollar General

That's what happened to me recently. I needed to stop and grab some eggs for a dinner recipe, and when I ran into the Saint Augusta Dollar General, I noticed that the cooler section looked a little empty. I wasn't seeing things, as there was a note attached to the cooler door.

The note read:

To better serve our customers, Dollar General will be upgrading the cooler and freezer units in this store.

Due to the upcoming upgrades, this store is offering a limited assortment of cooler and freezer items.

We apologize for the inconvenience and encourage you to visit another local Dollar General location.

Is there a timeline for the upgrade?

From what I saw, there was some selection of items; they did have the eggs I was looking for, but other parts of the freezer/cooler section were picked clean.

There wasn't a time frame set for the upgrade, but I will stop by this afternoon and ask if they have dates in mind for the upgrade, as I know the store is a popular stop for locals and those passing through on the way to St. Cloud.
