School is back in session for the year, and one of the best ways help kids get ahead in the classroom is to encourage reading. Reading aloud and reading alone can greatly help kids academic performance, but what do you do if your child has no interest in it?

One way to make reading more exciting is to treat it like an adventure. There are over 30 Little Free Library locations across the St. Cloud area.

Little Free Library is a nonprofit organization that inspires a love of reading, builds community, and sparks creativity by fostering neighborhood book exchanges around the world.

The concept for these mini libraries is simple: take a book, share a book. The goal is to provide 24/7 access to books for readers of all ages, and encourage a love of reading.

With over 30 locations across the St. Cloud area this could easily be turned into a reading treasure hunt for the kids. Bring a book they are finished reading, find a library and exchange it for one they haven't read. If they don't see a title that interests them, go to another one in the area and try again. Making reading feel like an adventure can help spark interest in it and get your non-reader reading.
