Was your New Year's resolution to try something new in 2026? What about getting out of your comfort zone and exercising your creative side? You can do that about an hour from St. Cloud, in a small building just outside of Isanti. The business serves up craft cocktails and lets you try your hand at working with molten glass.

Unique Day Trip/Date Idea

One of the things that I strive to do is offer up new experiences not only for myself, but for my family as well. I stumbled across the opportunity to work with molten glass back in December and decided to pull the trigger on the activity. Isanti Spirits Distillery is the business that is offering this unique opportunity, and if you have the time and or drive for something new, it's worth the hour drive.

Three Options For What To Create

The 'class', it's a class, but it's not a series of classes that you might be familiar with, IE Community Ed, offers participants the chance to create either a paperweight, a flower, or a pint glass. You can decide when you get to Isanti Spirits Distillery, but it doesn't hurt to have an idea going in, as you've got a half hour for the class.

I went with a paperweight, as it allowed for the most interaction with the glass. I got to pick my colors, dip the molten glass in the colors, then manipulate the glass before covering the colored glass in clear glass, creating the paperweight.

Sound Interesting? There Are A Few Weeks Left

The 30-minute one-on-one make-your-own sessions, which are only on Sundays, are $100 per person or $175 for two people. The classes are only during the winter months, and they seem to fill up, so either call Isanti Spirits Distillery or send them a message on social media, and they will reach out to set up a Sunday class. (Classes are for ages 10 and up, so if you've got a curious and creative kid, this might be a fun bonding experience)
