ST. CLOUD — There is lots of fun an exciting things happening around central Minnesota this weekend to check out. You can enjoy a great musical show this weekend at the Paramount Theatre. The BoDeans' have had a remarkable 30-year career with their blend of compelling songs and high energy performances. Known for their single "Closer to Free" the band's sound has led to many milestones. You can catch this show for one night only at the Paramount Theatre on Saturday night. Tickets for the show are $33 and the music begins at 7:30 p.m.

One person's scrap is another's art and inspiration. You can experience one of the most earth-friendly ensemble performances at Collegeville this weekend. Scrap Arts Music creates instruments from reclaimed industrial scraps to make music. The group has performed in 16 countries across five continents as well as at the closing ceremony of the 2010 Winter Olympics. This high-energy show will captivate the entire family. You can catch one of two performances on Saturday with the first at 2:00 p.m. and the second at 7:30 p.m. both inside the Stephen B. Humphrey Theatre. Tickets are $26 for the 2:00 p.m. show and $32 for the 7:30 p.m. show.

Enjoy a wonderful dinner theater performance this weekend in Cold Spring. Great Northern Theater Company is holding their musical "Don't Hug Me." The story takes place inside a rustic north woods bar in Bunyan Bay, Minnesota. The bar owner wants to sell and move to Florida, while his wife wants to stay. Meanwhile a waitress, wants to pursue a singing career. while her fiance wants her to stay home. So begins a battle of wills that tests their relationships and when a fast-talking salesman, promises to solve their problems and bring romance into their lives through the ‘magic’ of karaoke, all heck breaks loose! Tickets for the show is $42 and includes dinner which will start at 6:30 p.m. You can catch one of four shows starting Thursday through Sunday.

The River's Edge Convention Center will be filled with train enthusiasts this weekend. The annual Granite City Train Show is back again in downtown St. Cloud. Come see model and toy trains of all scales, accessories, books, videos, collectibles and more. There will be also be operating model and toy train railroad displays and a children's play area where they can help build a wooden train layout and run a model train. Doors open at 9:00 a.m. and tickets are available at the door for $6 and kids 10 and under are free.

You can help several families in need this weekend. All Saints Academy is holding a cancer benefit supporting three families at the school with parents receiving cancer treatment. Parishioners, community members, family, and friends are invited to come together in support of these families with a taco bar benefit, silent auction, 50/50 raffle (up to $1500 grand prize), and bake sale. All proceeds raised will go to medical and family expenses. Free-will donations will be accepted for food. The event is Friday from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the All Saints Academy campus.
