ST. CLOUD — Labor day weekend is here and the school year is starting, doesn't mean you can't have a little fun in Central Minnesota this weekend. Catch a high school football game at St. Cloud Apollo, go for a bike ride with some beer and burrito's at Beaver Island Brewing Company, listen to the acoustic sounds of Dave Lumley, dance to the country music duo of the Farmers Daughters at Rollies and go trap shooting in Maple Lake.     High School Football

    St. Cloud Metro

    Football season is back and your favorite high school sports teams kick off the season. This week starts off with some local excitement as cross town rivals St. Cloud Tech and St. Cloud Apollo square off in the first game of the season tomorrow (Friday) night. Kick off for the game starts at 7:00 p.m. and admission is usually under $10. If you can't catch that game or want to listen to a different team you can listen to 1390 Granite City Sports broadcast of the Sartell-Cambridge game. Pregame show starts at 6:45 p.m.

    Bikes, Beer, Burritos

    Beaver Island Brewing Company

    Enjoy a little exercise and refreshments tonight (Thursday) at the Beaver Island Brewing Company. You're invited to grab your bike and head out and ride along the Beaver Island Trail. When your workout is finished you can enjoy some beer as you wait for a burrito delivery. You're asked to meet at the Beaver Island taproom at 5:00 p.m. with the ride starting at 5:30 p.m. The cost for the event is $10 which will cover your beer and burrito.

Central Minnesota musician Dave Lumley will be performing all the hits of yesterday and today tomorrow (Friday) night.     The Farmer's Daughters

    Rollies Rednecks and Longnecks

    A country music duo from North Branch will be bringing their vocal talent to Rollie's this weekend. The Farmer's Daughters cover all your favorite "queens of country" as well as their new singles. They were even offered a Reality TV Show and a chance to be on America's Got Talent. The show is free of charge so bring your dancing shoes and join in the fun Saturday night.

    Labor Day Trap Shoot

    Maple Lake

    The Hasty-Silver Creek Sportsmen Club is inviting you to attend their Labor Day Trap Shoot and picnic on Monday. Trap shooting has grown in popularity. Meat shoots and Annie Oakley events will be held at the club grounds in Silver Creek. Shooting events are also set for youngsters under 16-years-old. The shoot is from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Shooting is $4 per round or $10 for youth specials. For more information call 763-443-7039.
