The Price Of All-You-Can-Drink Milk At The Minnesota State Fair Increasing By 50%
Nearly two million people attend the Minnesota State Fair in a given year, and everyone goes for their own reason. Some love the food, some the exhibits and some folks just go for the S-class people watching experience.
Another popular reason to attend the Great Minnesota Get Together is the All You Can Drink Milk stand. Those wishing to partake in their annual dairy delight may feel some sticker shock this season.
The Star Tribune is reporting the price of the milk is increasing by 50%, rising from $2 to $3 this summer. The tradition began in 1955 when milk cost just ten cents a glass.
This year's one dollar increase is the first rise in price since 2015. The Star Tribune notes that the increased price is not necessarily going to mean higher profits for anyone, noting that the cost of producing milk has risen significantly.
State Fair admission prices will remain flat this year at $18 for adults and $16 for kids 5-12 and seniors over 65.
"The Great Minnesota Get-Together is proud to be an annual tradition for so many Minnesotans, partly because a day at the fair is such an incredible value," said State Fair CEO Renee Alexander told KARE 11.
"In 2024, we are making it a priority to hold ticket prices the same while continuing to invest extensively in exceptional programming, guest experience enhancements, the historic fairgrounds and improvements to our operation."
The State Fair runs from August 22nd through September 2nd.
