Target Teams Up with Shopify to Offer More
For years, Target has been a favorite for people, not just in Minnesota, but around the country, for quality products. Some will argue that their prices are reasonable, but it’s hard to argue the quality of choices you get at Target.
The selection of items they offer isn’t a happy accident, that’s by design and strategy. Target has developed relationships with brands they feel will meet the needs and wants of their customer base.
In 2019, Target rolled out a new arm of what they do called Target Plus, which is an invitation only third-party marketplace for the retail giant to team with specific brands that will offer a certain level of quality and service.
Target has just announced a new member of the “Plus” family as they have partnered with Shopify to offer their customers a wider selection of trendy products that aren’t offered in their stores already.
Among the Shopify brands that Target will feature are True Classic and Caden Lane.
There is a tremendous up-side for the Shopify vendors who will be used in this new venture, as they move from only being seen online on Shopify, to being in stores and on the digital marketplace that is connected to one of the strongest retail brands in the county, which will increase their exposure tremendously.
Target Plus has over 1,200 product brands that have been analyzed and carefully evaluated to make sure the fit is on point for what Target is known for.
This partnership is the first of its kind between Shopify and a national retail outlet, but if this works out well, it’s likely not to be the last.
