SAUK RAPIDS -- A local non-profit dedicated to helping families dealing with life threatening childhood illnesses has reach an incredible milestone.

The Tanner's Team Foundation recently surpassed $100,000 in grants to struggling families.

John and Cindy Fuls created the organization in 2011, after their son Tanner passed away after losing his battle with cancer.

"A parent that's lost a child, all you want is their legacy to live on forever. And because of all of you we are doing that and I thank you," says Cindy Fuls.

Tanner's Team has been providing financial support to over 130 children and their families throughout 37 counties in Minnesota.

The Williams and Bailey families both have been awarded one of the grants and says it's amazing to have such strong support.

"Tanner's Team helped us financially when my daughter was going through her treatment and it's something we will always be thankful for," says Julie Williams.

"I can always count on John and Cindy to respond when I call. They are just a beautiful family and what they have done for us you can't put a price tag on," says the Bailey family.

Tanner's Team continues to spread their message through several community events such as Tanner's Birthday Party and the Annual 5K.

Tanner would have been a senior at Sauk Rapids-Rice this year.
