Parents, your New Year's Eve lifesaver is back again this year! Netflix is helping kids get to bed early on NYE by giving kids a countdown of their own! It's really a genius idea...I just wish it worked for a 2-month-old.
When Stranger Things first came out on Netflix, my wife and I were a bit reluctant to watch. We'd heard good things, but the sci-fi genre didn't pique our interest too much. On a whim though -- and just as much out of boredom -- we decided to give it a try, and it was the best decision we unwittingly made. Stranger Things was one of the best tv series I'd ever seen...
No network is wont to give up their biggest success, and Netflix can’t be thrilled with Stranger Things lasting four or five seasons. Well, there’s good news for them (and us), as the Duffer brothers say their four-season plan is likely to expand over time.
The only thing worse than evil clowns in the things-that-kids-are-supposed-to-like-but-are-actually-terrified-of genre is evil dolls, and the Child’s Play series pretty much has that one on lock. A few months ago we got our first look at the latest installment, Cult of Chucky, which promises even more scares from that orange-haired, rosy-cheeked bringer of terror. The good news is: you can stream it on Netflix next month.
Netflix continually pulls at the thread of movie-TV distribution, between bottomless budgets for original series and ongoing movies and comedy specials, and may yet investigate a new avenue for content. Sources report that Netflix is toying with the idea of certain productions filming multiple outcomes, so as to allow viewers to choose their own stories.
There’s lots of good stuff coming to Netflix on February, but, as always, there’s good stuff leaving too. This is the yin and yang of streaming video: With each new month, we gain and lose at the same time.
