I love those old time places that will give you a milkshake that comes in an old fashioned tall glass with the tin can with the left overs in it.  It feels like you know you got a great milk shake.  Or malt, whichever you prefer.

I feel like the whenever you get the "extra" milkshake given to you, it was made correctly. Not with fake ice cream in a milkshake machine.  It's like it was made with "love" in a blender of some sort.  Those are always the best milkshakes.

If you would like one of these milkshakes, you want to make sure you get a really good one, there is a restaurant in Minnesota that has been named as the best place to get a milkshake.

It's is aptly named the Malt Shop, and it has been in business since 1973. From Bring Me the News:

Located at 809 W 50th St. in the Lynnhurst area, the Malt Shop has been a neighborhood institution since 1973. Hitting it big the following year when TV's "Happy Days" ignited a '50s nostalgia craze, the restaurant has survived many ups and downs including the COVID-19 pandemic.

This restaurant, or malt shop, did have to close briefly in 2022, but opened with some improvements and updates that had been made.  There is another malt shop located in Roseville.  This is not that one, just in case there was any confusion.

There was a story written on an online source called "Southwest Voices".  That was back in 2022, when they had closed for that brief time and came back with new ownership.  The shop has continued to have success since then.

This ranking of "the best" came from Tempo 24/7.  They take a look at shakes from all over the country.  And the Malt Shop in Minnesota won the top spot.  So, if you are in the area, stop in and try one.  See if it lives up to the hype.

LOOK: Best Beers From Every State

To find the best beer in each state and Washington D.C., Stacker analyzed January 2020 data from BeerAdvocate, a website that gathers user scores for beer in real-time. BeerAdvocate makes its determinations by compiling consumer ratings for all 50 states and Washington D.C. and applying a weighted rank to each. The weighted rank pulls the beer toward the list's average based on the number of ratings it has and aims to allow lesser-known beers to increase in rank. Only beers with at least 10 rankings to be considered; we took it a step further to only include beers with at least 100 user rankings in our gallery. Keep reading to find out what the best beer is in each of the 50 states and Washington D.C.
