The toy and game company Hasbro has just successfully trademarked the scent of Play-Doh. They labeled it a "combination of a sweet, slightly musky, vanilla-like fragrance, with slight overtones of cherry, and the natural smell of a salted, wheat-based dough". Even just thinking of the scent of it brings back memories of childhood, but I wonder what they have planned. A line of Play-Doh scented candles?

What would the St. Cloud area's signature scent be? I grew up in Long Prairie, Minnesota where we had a place called Central-Bi Products. It is a place that produces animal food. It's safe to say that that would be the town's signature scent. St. Cloud's is a little bit harder to pin point. Here were a few ideas I came up with:

- Summertime by George: A combo of food truck scents and a summer evening breeze

- Park Smells: Fresh cut grass after a morning rain shower, followed by warm sunshine.

- Downtown: Fresh baked bread from Pan-O-Gold and the Dutch Maid Bakery, mixed with the urban smell of concrete and various food scents from the multiple restaurants.
