Small Town Morrison County Bar Destroyed By Fire

SOBIESKI - A longtime bar in the small town of Sobieski has been destroyed by a fire. The Morrison County Sheriff's Office says fire crews were called to Herbie's Bar at about 6:40 p.m. Monday.

When deputies arrived the south end of the building was fully engulfed in flames, along with two vehicles.

Four people were inside the bar when the fire started. They escaped without being hurt.

About 70 firefighters responded to the scene from Bowlus, Upsala, Flensburg, and Little Falls.

The building is a total loss.

The State Fire Marshal's Office is conducting an investigation.

Sobieski is a town of about 200 people located about five miles southwest of Little Falls.
