Sign of the Apocalypse: Costco is Hiking Prices
No! Say it ain't so, Costco! In a sure Sign of the Apocalypse/capitalism, Costco has hiked prices on popular products, including gasoline.
The iconic hotdog & pop (it's NOT soda!) combo remains at $1.50, while the rotisserie chickens remain just $4.99 each...for now.
Costco is Hiking Prices on Popular Items
For anyone with a basic understanding of economics, the price hikes are being blamed on higher wholesale prices...mostly due to freight costs.
Membership fees appear to be on the table for a price hike, too; as much as $5-$10 per year.
Costco May Drop Prices On Bulky Items
With freight costs actually (somehow) going down for bigger stuffs like furniture, shoppers could actually see deflation, so at least it's not all bad.
What About That Costco Gasoline?
Costco gas is increasing in price, too; but mostly just staying with competitor's price hikes. And it's usually still cheaper (a LOT in most cases) to get gas at Costco, even accounting for the required membership.
