Random Roadtrip: Can You Name This Week’s Destination? (11.04.20)
Think you can name a road trip destination without looking at a map?
Every Wednesday during the Drive Home with Adam, tune in to play Random Road Trip. The premise is simple -- Adam's planned out a road trip, but he's not telling you where you're going. Instead, he'll give you a series of directions starting from St. Cloud, which you have to follow along with in order to name the final destination. You're welcome to follow along on a map if you need to, but if you can do it in your head -- more power to you!
Here are this week's directions, as given out on-air:
For this random roadtrip we’re taking the kids to see a classic, Minnesota icon. So, starting in St. Cloud, take Highway 23 headed south out of town – out past Rockville, Cold Spring, Roscoe and Paynesville. Just past Raymond, Minnesota get on 5th street east until you hit a T junction. Take a right headed north onto 150th Ave SE and then your next left onto 1st St. East heading west. Follow that out past Watson to Lac Qui Parle. At Laq Que Parle, get on highway 20 headed west. After a handful of minutes, highway 20 merges with highway 40, which you’ll get on headed west a few minutes more until you roll into a little town of just about 1500. There’s not much going on here, but they do boast a large statue of something and claim the title as the world capital of THIS Nordic delicacy. Where are you and what’s the statue of?
