I have a ton of useless knowledge. I can thank VH1 for that! Back in the 90's when music videos were the norm on TV,  "Pop Up Video" was huge! If you don't remember what the show was about, it was the music video show where bubbles would pop up with various trivia and sarcastic remarks.  It was all over VH1 from 1996 through 2002. Don't really know why it ever left the TV- oh yeah, they stopped showing videos!

We can thank Twitter for its comeback! The show's co-creator explains, quote, "I have sat on the sidelines for the last decade and watched as everyone and their brother has ripped off 'Pop Up' in some way or another. With the internet coming out of nowhere and Twitter being hauntingly familiar and all of these devices that are using snarky, pithy text, they're using social networking to create their own pop-ups in a way."

VH1 will have 60 new episodes starting this fall. It won't be exactly like the old "Pop Up Video," this time they're taking on hip-hop videos too. MTV was the hip-hop channel so VH1 stayed clear when it first aired. I can't wait to fill my brain with more useless knowledge!!

To refresh your memory of the classic "Pop Up Video" let's get Rick-Rolled!
